On June 22nd, the BBC will broadcast the UK premiere of Arlene Sierra's Seattle Symphony commission Moler (2012), performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Grant Llewellyn conductor. The Sierra work completes this week's edition of Radio 3's Hear and Now, which also includes works by distinguished 20th-c women composers Elisabeth Lutyens and Priaulx Rainier. On June 23rd, violinist Anthony Marwood and cellist Richard Lester will give the world premiere of Sierra's new duo Avian Mirrors at the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival in East Sussex, England. There will also be a pre-concert interview with the composer. Click here for more information.
