  New Orchestral Work – Detroit Symphony / Toulmin Commission
Arlene Sierra will compose a new work for the Detroit Symphony, with further performances scheduled with four additional US orchestras as part of the Toulmin Commissioning programme

A new piano album based on the latest research into female birdsong. Commissioned by the Barbican Centre, London for soloist Sarah Cahill
 
     
Maya Deren series
Continuing from her successful rescorings of the films Meditation on Violence and Ritual in Transfigured Time for Lontano and the Goldfield Ensemble respectively, Sierra has just completed Studies in Choreography, the third in a series of new scores for prestigious ensembles, set to Maya Deren's expressive and surreal films from the 1940's and 50's. The next score in the series will be set to Deren's masterpiece At Land.
